Shermanbury Place, then, now, and in the future.
After decades of neglect, the next generation is working hard to restore the estate to its former glory.
Part of the charm of Shermanbury Place is the tumble-down, rustic, shabby chic feel. As a result, nature is abundant - if you’re lucky you might hear cuckoos and nightingales, or spot badgers playing at night.
Antonia took over the helm in 2022. A busy mum of three, a former TV producer, now she is learning how to be a farmer, whilst using regenerative agriculture principles.
Restoring Shermanbury is a passion project. Our values are Fun, Family, Friends, Wellness, and Education. Our goal is to share the magic of the place with like-minded souls while maintaining the privacy that makes this hidden gem so special.
For the next few years, we will be busy planting new woodland, renovating the dilapidated buildings, and restoring depleted farmland.
One day, hopefully soon, Shermanbury Place will be our family home.
We have a long journey ahead… and we’ve already started! The main house and gardens have recently hosted parties, Christmas wreath workshops, and farmer training days. A local youth charity camped overnight in our woodland. The house has also been used as a location for films, music videos, and photoshoots.
In October 2024, we launched The Paddock as a blank canvas events space for weddings, celebrations, retreats, and workshops. There is ample room for 150 guests, with space for glamping tents and food vans.
The goal is to offer some function rooms of the main house from 2027 onwards.
All of this will run in conjunction with farming, and feeding the nation in a nature-friendly way.
